AGM and International Women’s Day Celebration

8 March 2024 – On International Women’s Day, Imece held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by a vibrant celebration. The day commenced with an engaging session of user consultation, affirming the voices and needs of those we serve, followed by an inspiring speech delivered by Chair Yasemin Pınar. Pınar expressed gratitude to all service users, emphasizing the pivotal role they play in Imece’s longstanding mission to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) for over 42 years. She acknowledged, “We wouldn’t be where we are today without your solidarity.”

Director Şenay Dur then took the stage, providing an overview of the challenges faced in the past year, particularly highlighting the impact of the earthquake in Turkey within our communities. She emphasized that it had been a particularly challenging period, as many families in our community have still been affected by trauma as a result. Despite these challenges, Imece remained resolute in its mission to support women.
